Enrollment Open for "Faith and Globalization" Seminar
This fall, the Divinity School and the School of Management are jointly sponsoring a seminar titled “Faith and Globalization” that will be taught by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Yale Professor Miroslav Volf.
The seminar will meet on Thursdays 1:30- 3:20 p.m., with additional section discussions to be scheduled.
Enrollment in the seminar is limited to 25 Yale students registered for the fall 2008 term in any school or department at Yale that has agreed to give credit for the course. Students will be selected through an online application that is available to registered students only.
Students can review or submit an application at www.yale.edu/sis/sfg. They will also find more information about the course at that website. The online application deadline is noon on Thursday, Aug. 14.
Selection will be based on students’ preparedness to engage the themes of the course as well as their ability to articulate how participation in the course would serve their intellectual and vocational goals.
More information about Blair’s initiatives in the area of faith and globalization, including the general concerns that the Yale course will address, is available in a speech he recently gave at Westminster Cathedral. The text of this speech is available online.
