Celebrating the Chinese New Year at Yale

The Association of Chinese Students & Scholars at Yale (ACSSY) will present a spectacular celebration in Woolsey Hall, corner of College and Grove streets, at 2 p.m. on February 25, to welcome the Year of the Pig.

Tickets are $20 and $15; discounts for seniors, children and holders of Yale IDs.

In the first half of the concert, Yale students and professional musicians will present Chinese folk dance and traditional music, both vocal and instrumental.

The second half will feature a fashion show and performance piece called “The Moving Forbidden City,” reflecting Chinese architecture, history and culture, using images of the Forbidden City as a backdrop. A troupe of professional performers, visiting the United States on behalf of the Chinese government to promote the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will present “The Moving Forbidden City.”

The ACSSY is an organization of Chinese graduate and professional students and scholars at Yale that promotes cultural exchange.
