Yale Law School to Host Conference on Access to Knowledge

Yale Law School’s Information Society Project, led by professors Jack Balkin and Yochai Benkler, is sponsoring a conference on the future of access to knowledge, “A2K,” April 21–23, at Yale Law School, 127 Wall St.

Yale Law School’s Information Society Project, led by professors Jack Balkin and Yochai Benkler, is sponsoring a conference on the future of access to knowledge, “A2K,” April 21–23, at Yale Law School, 127 Wall St.

American and international policy makers, activists, industry leaders and academics from more than 30 countries will participate in the A2K conference. Panels titled “The Economics of Information,” “Network Neutrality in the Developing World,” “Digital Rights Management and Globalization” and “Access to Medicines” will focus on such topics as intellectual property, telecommunications, education, culture, science and health care.

According to conference organizers, “The A2K conference aims to help build an intellectual framework that will protect access to knowledge both as the basis for sustainable human development and to safeguard human rights.”

This conference is open to the public. Registration, including fees, and a full schedule are online at the A2K conference Web site. Members of the media are welcome to attend free of charge, but pre-registration is requested.
