Poetry Reading November 17 at Yale Physicians Building

There will be a poetry reading at the Yale Physicians Building November 17 to celebrate the publication of the poetry anthology, “Caduceus,” which contains many poems written by physicians and health care providers.

There will be a poetry reading at the Yale Physicians Building November 17 to celebrate the publication of the poetry anthology, “Caduceus,” which contains many poems written by physicians and health care providers.

The reading will coincide with the 11th Art Place art show opening. Art Place is the award-winning program sponsored by the Yale Medical Group which uses art to enhance and elevate the medical environment for patients, staff and visitors to the Yale Physicians Building.

Caduceus is the third collection of poems edited by West Haven resident Tony Fusco and includes work by local and nationally recognized poets, among them Maxine Kumin, Gary Soto, Vivian Shipley, Jack Bedell, Maria Mazziotti Gillan, Norah Pollard, Pit Pinegar, Shula Chernoff and Rennie McQuilkin. Several of the poets will read from the collection.

The art opening begins at 5 p.m. and the poetry reading begins at 7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. The Physicians Building is located at 800 Howard Avenue. Parking is available in the Howard Avenue parking garage and tickets will be validated.
