Yale Stop Smoking Campaign

People who smoke often use New Year's Day as a starting point to quit smoking. However, many people try to do so without help, which significantly reduces their chances of success. Researchers at the Center for Nicotine and Tobacco Use Research at Yale (CENTURY) are available for interviews to talk about why people should quit, strategies they can use to do so, why it is hard to quit cold turkey, and other smoking related issues. The researchers include:

Stephanie O’Malley, M.D.-Professor and director of the Substance Abuse Research Division in the Department of Psychiatry and the principal investigator for the Yale Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC). Jody Sindelar-Professor in the Division of Health Policy & Administration in the School of Public Health, Sindelar specializes in applying economic principles to health issues.
