Yale Properties Announces Opening of Designer Boutique

Yale University Properties announces the grand opening of a new designer boutique, Luciano Padua, 1130 Chapel Street, on October 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The new store is European designer Luciano Padua’s first North American venture. Padua selected the corner of York and Chapel streets due to its prominent position between the Chapel and Broadway shopping districts.

David Newton, director of University Properties, says, “We are delighted to welcome Luciano Padua to Yale’s Community Investment Portfolio. Mr. Padua represents the type of independent entrepreneur who will bring commitment and excitement to this vibrant district.”

Padua is known in both the Italian and French markets for his reproductions of up-to-the-minute trends from Milan, Paris and London. Specializing in women’s clothing and accessories, his designs are produced for the “young at heart,” says Padua. “The store will have new merchandise every three to four weeks, based on what is happening on the catwalks in Milan and Paris,” he adds.

In addition to clothing, the store will carry leather goods, down-filled outerwear, shearlings and accessories not found in chain and department stores. Padua prides himself on making his customers fashion leaders, bringing new design to the U.S. market weeks ahead of others.
