Roger Longman, co-founder and managing partner of Windhover Information, Inc., will kick off the revived Biohaven Speaker Series with a talk titled “Trends in Pharma-Biotech Dealmaking” today at 5:00 p.m. at the Peabody Museum, 170 Whitney Ave.

Networking will run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the talk will begin at 6 p.m. Longman’s talk is the first in a series focusing on the biotech industry and is co-sponsored by Connecticut United for Research Excellence (CURE), the Yale Office of Cooperative Research, The Yale Entrepreneurial Society and the Yale Biotechnology Student Interest Group.

Headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, Windhover provides premium research, data analysis and commentary to health care business executives worldwide. The firm’s conferences and partnering events also provide a unique forum for networking and information-exchange at the highest levels of management. The company publishes In Vivo, Start-up, In Vivo Europe and Strategic Intelligence Systems, the comprehensive database of industry alliances.

Longman maintains that business development is now as important to most drug companies as internal discoveries. He said the industry’s most important new product strategy depends on finding unexploited potential in existing discoveries.

The talk is free of charge to the Yale community and CURE members, and $60 for others. To register, please e-mail cure@curenet.org.
