Physicians of the Yale Medical Group Will Continue to Care for Patients Despite Possible Job Action by Clerical and Technical Employees
The physicians of the Yale Medical Group, who provide patient services at several different locations in New Haven, will offer uninterrupted care in the event of a strike by unionized Yale University employees. Yale unions have scheduled a strike to begin Aug. 27.
David Leffell, M.D., professor and senior associate dean for clinical activities at Yale Medical School, said services will be offered at all New Haven locations, among them the Yale Physicians Building at 800 Howard Avenue and the Temple Medical Building at 40 Temple Street.
Persons enrolled in Yale research studies and clinical trials also will have access to the medical school facilities where the studies are being conducted.
“The well being of our patients is our primary concern,” Leffell said. “Our physicians, nurses and staff will provide care as usual at all our locations throughout New Haven.”
