Yale launched a comprehensive website today that highlights the University’s global presence and makes its international initiatives more accessible to researchers, students and journalists.

“The website, Yale and the World (www.world.yale.edu) offers a gateway to the global aspects of Yale University,” said Vice President and University Secretary Linda Lorimer. “The site will be a comprehensive resource for researchers or media representatives interested in international affairs, prospective students outside of the United States and current Yale students, faculty and alumni.”

Organized both by geographical region and by topic, the site gives visitors ready access to all of the University’s extensive international resources and activities - including, relevant courses and programs, library and museum collections, and services for Yale’s international community.

In addition, the site contains a new database of Yale’s international research. The database is a catalogue of ongoing research by Yale faculty and scholars that is either international in nature or has implications overseas.

“This database is really one of the first of its kind for a university,” added Brett Gale, associate director in the Secretary’s Office, who developed the website. ” We expect that it will help develop and foster collaborations among Yale, New Haven and international institutions around the world.”
