Sixteen students from Hill Regional Career High School and three students from Common Ground Charter School will represent the city in the FIRST Robotics Competition, co-sponsored by Yale University and the United Illuminating Co.

Sixteen students from Hill Regional Career High School and three students from Common Ground Charter School will represent the city in the FIRST Robotics Competition, co-sponsored by Yale University and the United Illuminating Co.

Founded by Dean Kamen of DEKA Research, which recently introduced the Segway TM Human Transporter (HT), the overall FIRST Robotics Competition regional contest is sponsored by United Technologies Corporation.

Event Dates:Thursday - Saturday, April 4 - 6

Event Location:New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Event Times:Approx. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A preview photo opportunity of the students and their entry, visited by: Mayor John DeStefano Jr.; Dr. Reginald Mayo, Superintendent of Schools; Bruce Alexander, vice president and director, and Michael Morand, associate vice president, of Yale’s Office of New Haven and State Affairs; Ronelle Williams, acting director of Market New Haven Inc.; and United Illuminating Co. engineers, Jim Crowe and John Buffa.
