Panel Discussion at Yale to Explore Islam

Yale University will host a panel discussion, “Confronting Islam: Religion as a Challenge or a Threat?” on Wednesday, October 3, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Peabody Museum of Natural History, 170 Whitney Avenue.

The event, sponsored by the Department of Religious Studies, is free and open to the public. Panelists will be Abbas Amanat, professor of Middle Eastern history and chair of the Council on Middle Eastern Studies at the Yale Center for International and Area Studies; Gerhard Bowering, professor of Islamic Studies; Frank Griffel, assistant professor of Islamic Studies; Kishwar Rizvi, lecturer on the history of Islamic art; and Lamin Sanneh, the D.Willis James Professor of Missions and World Christianity and professor of history.
