Yale Hosts Accelerator Symposium Oct. 9-12

The Yale Physics Department’s Wright Nuclear Structure Laboratory will host the 33rd meeting of the Symposium of Northeastern Accelerator Personnel October 9-12.

The objective of the symposium is to assemble a wide spectrum of engineers, physicists and technicians to discuss construction, operation and applications of electrostatic accelerators and boosters.

Among the topics typically explored are accelerator performances and developments, ion sources, charging systems, beam optics, vacuum technology, control systems and equipment suppliers. Members also present submitted papers, laboratory reports, and have informal discussions.

About 70 persons are expected to attend from university and national laboratories in the United States and abroad.
