Yale President Levin to Formally Announce $500 Million Plan for Science and Engineering Facilities

New Haven, Conn. —Yale University President Richard C. Levin will lead a tour of the University’s science and engineering facilities for federal, state and New Haven officials on Thursday, January 20 at 9:45 a.m.

Governor John Rowland, U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro and New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr. will join President Levin on the tour, during which President Levin will describe the University’s plans to invest more than $500 million in facilities to maintain Yale’s worldwide scientific excellence in research and teaching.

Media are invited to cover the tour, and attend the news conference that will follow on Yale’s science and engineering plan.

The tour will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Hillhouse Avenue and Sachem Street adjacent to the Science Hill section of Yale’s campus. The tour will lead to Yale’s Bass Center for Molecular and Structural Biology, where the news conference will be held in Room 405, beginning at approximately 10 a.m.

Directions to Yale from Interstate 91:

Take Interstate 91 to Exit 3 (Trumbull Street). Proceed straight through the traffic light at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Trumbull Street. Continue on Trumbull Street past the traffic lights on Whitney Avenue and Temple Street. Turn right onto Hillhouse Avenue and proceed to the end of Hillhouse Avenue, where it intersects with Sachem Street. The tour will begin at this intersection.
