First Class to Graduate from Management Training Institute
The first class of managers from Yale University and the city of New Haven to attend a Yale-sponsored Management Training Institute will graduate October 29.
During a graduate ceremony hosted by Yale Vice President and Secretary Linda K. Lorimer and New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr., participants will receive a certificate of completion.
The ceremony will take place Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Yale Corporation Room in Woodbridge Hall at 105 Wall Street on the Yale campus.
Twelve managers from Yale and 14 from the city attended five workshops at Yale that were led by experts from the city and the University’s faculty, staff and alumni. Managers from police, fire, human resources, public works and parks and recreation departments participated.
Each of the management training sessions addressed issues affecting New Haven and Yale. Participants received instruction in state-of-the-art management techniques and learned how to apply them in their jobs. Students also received reference materials and other aids to assist them in managing their offices and using new leadership skills.
