Learn to Lobby at the Women's Campaign School

The Women’s Campaign School (WCS) at Yale University will present a one-day training session, “Lobbying: Advocacy and Action,” on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Yale Law School, 127 Wall St., 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

This non-partisan program is designed for people who want to understand the legislative process and how to influence legislation by lobbying their elected representatives. Panel discussions, breakout class sessions and a hands-on workshop will focus on community organizing, fund-raising and media/message.

Marie O’Brien, director of state and local government affairs with United Technologies in Hartford and one of the organizers of the event, said, “This session is a must for people who want to make a difference on an issue, in their community or in their state.”

A tuition charge of $75 covers classes, breakfast and lunch. Space is limited but openings are available. Applications are available on line www.yale.edu/wcsyale or by calling (800) 353-2878.
