Yale to Host Discussion of Religious Organizations And Community Development

Yale University will host a panel discussion on "Issues and Challenges Confronting Faith-Based Organizations Involved in Community Development Initiatives" on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 4-6 p.m., in the Common Room at Yale Divinity School, 409 Prospect St.

Yale University will host a panel discussion on “Issues and Challenges Confronting Faith-Based Organizations Involved in Community Development Initiatives” on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 4-6 p.m., in the Common Room at Yale Divinity School, 409 Prospect St.

A reception will follow the presentation. The event is free and open to the public.

The panel will include influential participants in the field of community development, including Angel Fernandez, program officer for The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven; the Rev. David Heywood, president of the Unity Plaza Development Corporation; the Rev. Fred Lucas, president of the Faith Center for Community Development; the Rev. Wayne Streever, board member of ACT (Area Congregations Together); and Carla Weil, executive director of the Greater New Haven Community Loan Fund.

The event is sponsored by Yale Divinity School, the Program On Non-Profit Organizations at Yale, the Institute for the Advanced Study of Religion at Yale, and the Black Seminarians at Yale Divinity School. For further information, contact 432-6297.
