Yale Divinity School to Host Open House
A Visitation Day for prospective students and interested community members will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Yale Divinity School (YDS), 409 Prospect St.
The day-long event, hosted jointly by YDS, the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, will offer presentations on academic life, vocational preparation, admissions and financial aid, as well as an opportunity to participate in the worship life of the community and to attend a session of the course “Performance of Text.” The class will be taught by Richard Ward, Clement-Muehl Associate Professor of Communication Arts at YDS; Peter Hawkins, chair of the Religion and the Arts Program; and students. The topic will be “Speaking of God,” and the texts studied will be letters, stories and diaries.
Visitors are invited to meet informally with Divinity School faculty and students during lunch.
Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Guy Martin will be on hand to speak to prospective students and members of the community who wish to experience a day at the Divinity School.
