I want to thank Ronnie Chan for inviting me to speak to you today. I am honored to be here and pleased to contribute in whatever way I can to strengthening the many ties between Hong Kong and the educational institutions of the United States. Yale is especially proud of its longstanding, historic involvement in China, as well as its many, more recent connections to Hong Kong’s universities.
