Connecticut Mental Health Center: 'Community of Hope'

Founded in 1966, Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC) is a partnership of Yale and the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. CMHC is an urban community mental health center and one of the first community mental health centers of its kind in the country. It has served over 5,000 men and women every year, all of whom are poor with little or no income or insurance. CMHC has a tradition of supporting individuals living with serious mental illnesses such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, and also those with addictions or co-occurring mental health and addiction problems
