The event was organized by Christopher Harnisch '15 of the Jackson Institute and Yale School of Management, who is an Army veteran and president of the Yale Student Veterans Council.

The names of the Yale alumni killed in the attacks were read by student leaders from Yale College and the graduate and professional schools.

Yale Assistant Chief of Police Michael Patten, Yale Chief of Police Ronnell Higgins, and New Haven Chief of Police Dean Esserman were among those attended the ceremony.
The flag was raised to half staff by cadets and midshipmen of Yale Air Force and Naval ROTC at the conclusion of the ceremony.

9/11 remembrance ceremony

Members of the university community gathered on Beinecke Plaza on Sept. 11 for a ceremony and moment of silence in memory of those who died in the terrorist attacks of 2001.
