Earlier this year, the Sterling Memorial Library acquired a collection of approximately 3,000 horror and exploitation films that students and scholars will use to explore topics ranging from the history of VHS to teenage culture in the late 1970s and early 1980s. "In and of themselves, these movies are cultural and historical artifacts," says David Gary, the Kaplanoff Librarian for American History, adding that the box art also is academically valuable. Here are some of the films in the collection.
