Five books from Yale University Press win graphic design awards

July 11, 2013

“50 Books/50 Covers” honored five Yale University Press art and architecture books this year with Best Book Design awards.

In partnership with Design Observer, the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), and Designer & Books, the “50 Books/50 Covers” competition recognizes the year’s 50 best design books and 50 best book cover designs. With its inception in 1924, “50 Books/50 Covers” is considered the most prestigious and longest-standing graphic design award. Each award winner in book and book cover design is showcased on the Design Observer, AIGA Design Archives, and Designer & Books websites.

The five winning books from Yale University Press (pictured below) are “Schiaparelli & Prada: Impossible Conversations,” “Conversations from the Print Studio: A Master Printer in Collaboration with Ten Artists,” “Dancing around the Bride: Cage, Cunningham, Johns, Rauschenberg, and Duchamp,” “This Will Have Been: Art, Love, and Politics in the 1980s,” and “The American Circus.”
