Dr. Irina Shklyar receives Golseth Young Investigator Award

Dr. Irina Shklyar, a resident at the School of Medicine, received the Golseth Young Investigator Award from the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Foundation for Research & Education.

Dr. Irina Shklyar, a resident at the School of Medicine, received the Golseth Young Investigator Award from the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Foundation for Research & Education.

Shklyar completed the research as a medical student while doing a year-long fellowship at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Her abstract is titled “Quantitative Ultrasound Backscatter Analysis for the Evaluation of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.”

The Golseth Young Investigator Award is presented annually for outstanding research by physicians in early practice.

Founded in 1953, the AANEM is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to the advancement of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, and electrodiagnostic medicine.
