PAUL ANASTAS, professor in the practice of chemistry for the environment at Yale, served as assistant administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as the EPA’s science advisor from 2009 to 2012. He has appointments at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, the Department of Chemistry, and the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is also director of the Yale Center for Green Chemistry.

KEN GILLINGHAM, a professor of environmental and energy economics at Yale, served as the senior economist for energy and the environment at the White House Council of Economic Advisors during the Obama administration. EDGAR HERTWICH, a professor of industrial sustainability at Yale, leads the International Resource Panel’s Working Group on Environmental Impacts of Products and Materials. A lead chapter author for the International Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) 5th Assessment Report, he is director of the Yale Center for Industrial Ecology.
