MEDIA ADVISORY: Yale hosts ‘Healthcare Hackathon’ to promote new ideas

On Friday, Jan. 20, Yale will kick off the 2017 Healthcare Hackathon, a weekend event that brings together innovative thinkers to tackle challenges in healthcare.

On Friday, Jan. 20, Yale will kick off the 2017 Healthcare Hackathon, a weekend event that brings together innovative thinkers to tackle challenges in healthcare. At Yale School of Medicine, some 300 participants, ranging from students to biotech entrepreneurs to professors, will form teams and develop innovative solutions to today’s most pressing healthcare problems. Mentors from pharmaceutical, medical device, and venture capital fields will serve as coaches to assist teams in developing prototypes and business plans for presentation. The event concludes with awards and cash prizes for the most promising ideas.

The event is presented by the Yale Center for Biomedical Innovation & Technology (CBIT) and the Yale School of Medicine Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging.
