Visit the newly renovated Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library to see Destined to Be Known: The James Weldon Johnson Memorial Collection at 75. In addition to detailing the life of James Weldon Johnson — an author, educator, diplomat, and civil rights activist — the exhibit showcases highlights from the collection, including manuscripts of Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes, and Richard Wright; photographs from the Randolph Linsly Simpson Collection; and artworks by Roy DeCarava. Celebrate the life of the late Muhammad Ali with a 20th anniversary screening of Leon Gast’s When We Were Kings, introduced by Professor Charles Musser. An Academy Award-winner for Best Documentary Feature, the film includes footage of Ali, his “Rumble in the Jungle” rival George Foreman, James Brown, B.B.
