Drop in and volunteer for a Yale Farm Work Day. All are welcome — no gardening experience is necessary. Just bring a water bottle and wear weather- and work-appropriate clothing. Free. Yale Farm, 345 Edwards St. 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Celebrate the Constitution with Carol Glynn. Understand what the Constitution is, why it was created, the three branches of government, and what the Constitution means to us today. The event aims to be patriotic, energetic, respectful, and fun. Free. New Haven Green. 1:15 p.m.


S A T U R D A Y

Wander through an Antique Bicycle Display and then watch the Wheelmen give a demonstration of cycling through the ages at the Cycle-Bration Event. See hobby horses, velocipedes, high-wheel bicycles, hard-tire safety bicycles, and pneumatic safety bicycles — all well over 100 years old. Free. New Haven Green (along Temple St.). 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (demonstrations: 11 a.m.-noon).

Come to the Green for lunch and stay for an afternoon of entertainment. Performers will include Elm City Chamber Fest, Thomas Ortiz Dance, Juicy Grapes, Arlene Wow!, and Mary McBride. Free. New Haven Green. Performances start at 1 p.m.

Be dazzled by the International Festival of Arts & Ideas’ closing show on the Green. Cirque Mechanics and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra promise “a captivating production” with acrobats, cyclists, trapeze artists, and one-of-a-kind machines. Free. New Haven Green. 7 p.m.

Enjoy an easy bike ride while exploring bicycling history in New Haven on a Bonus Ride with the Wheelmen. Free. Meet at the New Haven Green. 10 a.m.

See a screening of the classic film Kiss Me Kate, shown in conjunction with the Yale Center for British Art’s exhibition “The Poet of Them All.” George Sidney directed the Cole Porter musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” — the story about divorced Broadway stars who are reunited amid backstage complications and romantic misunderstandings. Free. Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel St. 2 p.m.
