Chuck Todd of ‘Meet the Press’ to visit as a Poynter Fellow in Journalism

Chuck Todd, moderator of “Meet the Press,” will speak at Yale on Thursday, April 28 as a Poynter Fellow in Journalism.

Todd, who is also the host of “Meet the Press Daily,” is NBC’s political director and the on-air political analyst for the “Nightly News with Lester Holt” and “Today.” He also edits the online journal First Read.

In 2008, Todd became NBC’s chief White House correspondent, and has since broadcast live reports from 25 countries. He helped launch “The Daily Rundown” in 2010, and has served as a guest political analyst on such shows as “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” “Inside Politics,” “Morning Joe,” “NBC Nightly News,” and “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

Todd is the co-author of “How Barack Obama Won: A State-by-State Guide to the Historic 2008 Presidential Election” (2009), and his political and media essays have frequently appeared in The Atlantic, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, among others.

The Poynter Fellowship in Journalism was established by Nelson Poynter, who received his master’s degree in 1927 from Yale. The fellowship brings to campus journalists from a wide variety of media outlets who have made significant contributions to their field. Among recent Poynter fellows are John Shelton Reed, Mara Liasson, and Prashant Jha.
