Science Diplomats to present ‘The Quantum Factory: Creating Solar Storms, Particles, and Uncertainty’

The paradoxes of the universe will be the focus of the next Science in the News talk presented by the Yale Science Diplomats, a group of graduate students dedicated to making complex scientific topics easily understood by people of all ages.

Titled “The Quantum Factory: Creating Solar Storms, Particles, and Uncertainty,” the lecture will be presented three times: on Monday, March 14, 7-8 p.m. in the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., Milford; on Wednesday, March 16, 7-8 p.m. in the Guilford Free Library, 67 Park St., Guilford; and on Thursday, March 24, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the New Haven Free Public Library, 133 Elm St., New Haven. The talks are free and open to the public; refreshments will be provided.

Three Yale scientists will discuss some of the most interesting observations from the physical universe and the applications that these discoveries offer. The talk will explore the vastness of the “Quantum Factory” and cover topics ranging from stellar astrophysics to neutrinos to quantum computing.
