A newly launched Yale website provides students with information about the procedures and resources for reporting experiences of discrimination and harassment.

The Student Discrimination and Harassment Reporting & Response website was announced on Feb. 1 by Secretary and Vice President for Student Life Kimberly M. Goff-Crews in an email to students.

“In his Nov. 17 message to the Yale community, ‘Toward a Better Yale,’ President Salovey committed to creating ‘robust and clear mechanisms for reporting, tracking, and addressing actions that may violate the university’s clear nondiscrimination policies,’” wrote Goff-Crews. “This new website marks another step in our work.”

The website provides students with information on reporting, seeking guidance and advice, and resolving situations that raise concerns about discrimination or harassment. Trained staff will assist students with their options.

“This spring, we will turn our attention to creating the best mechanisms for reporting, tracking, and addressing discrimination and harassment,” said Goff-Crews. “We have begun to review existing policies and procedures and to consider new mechanisms that have proven effective at other universities.” She noted that Yale administrators have communicated with the elected leaders of the Yale College Council, Graduate School Assembly, and Graduate and Professional Student Senate and will work with them to continue incorporating student input as we move forward.

“This website, and the review of policies and procedures related to reporting discrimination or harassment, are part of our university’s ongoing work toward a more inclusive Yale,” said Goff-Crews, adding “I look forward to hearing from you as we continue to refine to the website to provide clear and helpful information.”
