Flights of Fancy returns with more fine wine and shopping discounts

Flights of Fancy, downtown New Haven’s wine-tasting and shopping event, returns on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event features in-store wine tastings, special discounts, and giveaways at more than 30 downtown shops and restaurants. It is sponsored by The Wine Thief and The Study at Yale Hotel, and presented by Town Green District and the Broadway and Chapel Merchants Association.

Live music will be provided by Elle Sera in The Study at Yale Hotel (1157 Chapel St.) DJ Amy Grey of Radio 104.1 will broadcast live as she strolls to designated Flights of Fancy stops to offer special prizes to participants. 

Attendees can register/check-in at The Study at Yale Hotel, between 4:30 and 7 p.m.. Participation is $20 and includes a Flights of Fancy wine glass, a map of participating stops, entry into the grand prize drawing, validated parking, and coffee and dessert. Participants who bring their wine glass from a previous Flights of Fancy event will receive $5 off of their admission fee. 

Once registered, participants sample fine wines provided by The Wine Thief (181 Crown St.) and receive 20% off their favorite item at participating locations in the Broadway and Chapel shopping districts. (Note: Some exclusions apply; discounts may vary.)

At 8:15 p.m., attendees return to The Study at Yale Hotel for Willoughby’s coffee, dessert from Insomnia Cookies, (1143 Chapel St.) and a grand prize drawing for a complimentary stay for two at The Study at Yale Hotel.

Free validated parking is available at The York Street Garage (150 York St.) for all Flights of Fancy attendees; participants should bring their parking ticket with them for validation. The event is limited to the first 650 registrants, and reservations are encouraged.
