Each year, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) matches international students and scholars with families from the Yale community that host them for Thanksgiving dinner. The program, titled “Thanksgiving at Home,” was started in 2001 as a way for international students to experience a Thanksgiving dinner and to ease any loneliness students may be feeling as others go home.

“It is an opportunity for international students and scholars and their families to share this traditional American holiday and to experience the warmth and generosity of the local community,” said Maria Gutierrez, assistant director of for programs at OISS. “Students and scholars continually tell us how much they appreciated and enjoyed being a part of a Thanksgiving celebration.”

To participate, either as a host or as a guest, fill out the form on the OISS website.
