Founder's Day celebration to feature tours, open houses and more

All members of the Yale community are invited to join second annual celebration of Founders Day on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The full schedule of events can be read online at the Founders Day website

Highlights include tours and open houses at multiple campus sites from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; a fall celebration on Cross Campus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with student performances, a photo booth, and seasonal snacks; and visits by President Salovey to locations across campus.

Open houses will be offered at the President’s house at 43 Hillhouse Ave.; multiple sites at the West Campus (note that West Campus open houses are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.); the Rose Alumni House at 232 York Street; the Kiphuth Trophy Room at Payne Whitney Gymnasium, 7a Tower Pkwy.; the Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St; and Mory’s., 306 York St.

Tours will be available of the Grove Street Cemetery; the Cushing Center at the Yale School of Medicine; Harkness Tower and the Yale Memorial Carillon; Woodbridge Hall; the Yale Repertory Theatre; Sterling Memorial Library; Hall of Graduate Studies; and Hillhouse Avenue. This year’s Founders Day will feature the third annual #InspiringYale Instagram Challenge. Instagram users on campus during Founders Day celebrations are encouraged to share some of their favorite spots at Yale. New this year, anyone who visits one open house or takes a tour is also eligible to enter to win in the new Founders Day Passport Contest.
