College Night on Broadway returns Friday with activities and discounts for students

College Night on Broadway, an event held each September by the Broadway Merchant’s Association and The Shops at Yale, will take place on Friday, Sept. 11 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the Broadway District.

The event offers students a chance to meet local merchants while enjoying free pizza at Yorkside Pizza and Restaurant, ice cream from Ashley’s Ice Cream, cookies from Insomnia Cookies, and donuts from Orangeside Donuts.

In addition, student shoppers can enjoy a variety of fun activities, including henna tattoos, palm reading, fortune telling, a photo booth, and a raffle to win prizes from local stores and restaurants.

College Night on Broadway invites students from all area colleges and universities to take part in the fun. The night features more than 20 stores and restaurants in the Broadway District including but not limited to J. Crew, GANT, Urban Outfitters, Kixters, Tropical Smoothie Café, and the Yale Bookstore by Barnes and Noble. Participating stores will have discounts of up to 20% off, along with varied in-store promotions.

About College Night on Broadway

College Night on Broadway is sponsored by The Shops at Yale and the Broadway Merchants Association in downtown New Haven. College Night has been a popular event since 2004, bringing hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students out for a night of live music, free food, activities, and discounted shopping.

Registration for the event is free and open to all college students with a valid student ID. Registration is held on Broadway Island across from Trailblazer.

Broadway stores are open until 9 p.m., Monday-Saturday and until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
