Haunted Hall Crawl

Start the weekend early — attend the Haunted Hall Crawl and Costume Ball and enjoy a spine-tingling evening of terror at the Peabody Museum. Explore the haunted halls, enjoy witches’ brew, and dance with the skeleton crew. Refreshments and cocktails will be served. Ages 18 and over. Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, 170 Whitney Ave. 7-10 p.m.

Yale Center for British Art

Enjoy a Concert by the Yale School of Music Brass Quintet as they perform music by William Byrd, Gustav Holst, Kenneth Alford, and other British composers. Free (seating is limited). Library court, Yale Center for British Art,1080 Chapel St. 1 p.m.

Pan's Labyrinth

See the film Pan’s Labyrinth (Spain, 2006). Set in fascist Spain of 1944, the film tells the story of a bookish young stepdaughter of a sadistic army officer, who escapes into a fantasy world. Free. Whitney Humanities Center auditorium, 53 Wall St. 7 p.m.

Halloween Show

Experience Yale Symphony Orchestra’s annual Halloween Show. The fully costumed orchestra will play a soundtrack consisting of pop music, movie soundtracks, and classical pieces to a silent film written, produced, and directed by YSO members. Woolsey Hall is sold out but YSO is offering a second location where the show will be live-streamed. Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall, Rm. 114, 1 Prospect St. 11 p.m.

Eurydice

Come see Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl. In a play based on the ancient Greek myth, a young woman travels to the underworld after dying on her wedding day. There, she encounters her deceased father, some talking stones, and “a good bit of water.” Free, but register in advance. Whitney Humanities Center Auditorium, 53 Wall St. Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Womens Soccer

Cheer on the women’s soccer team as Yale hosts Columbia in one of the final games of the season. Reese Stadium, 75 Central Ave.  4 p.m.

Westminster Abbey Choir

Listen to the Westminster Abbey Choir singing “Music from the Royal Wedding and more.” The choir plays a central role both in the daily choral services in Westminster Abbey and in the many royal, state, and national occasions that take place there. It is comprised of 30 boy choristers and 12 professional adult singers. Free. Woolsey Hall, 500 College St. 5 p.m.


S U N D A Y


Mosaics

Bring the kids to get an up-close look at the Roman and Byzantine mosaics in the gallery’s collection and explore the techniques used in their creation by making your own mosaic. The Family Program, Making Roman Mosaics is for children ages 6–12 and is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Roman in the Provinces: Art on the Periphery of Empire. Free.
