Gala concert to feature Yale Concert Band and U.S. Military Academy Band

The United States Military Academy Band at West Point and the Yale Concert Band will join together on the eve of their 46th football meeting to present a gala concert to commemorate the centennial of the Yale Bowl (1914), on Friday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. in Woolsey Hall, corner College and Grove streets. Admission is free, with no tickets required. (Doors open at 7:15 pm).

The United States Military Academy Band at West Point and the Yale Concert Band will join together on the eve of their 46th football meeting to present a gala concert to commemorate the centennial of the Yale Bowl (1914), on Friday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. in Woolsey Hall, corner College and Grove streets. The concert will feature the combined bands, as well as specialty numbers by each group, including Yale and Army fight songs and alma maters, “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “America the Beautiful,” and tributes to all the branches of the U.S. military. Some of these songs that have accompanied Army and Yale athletic competitions since 1893.

The West Point Band is conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Jim Keene and the Yale Concert Band by Thomas C. Duffy.
