This video shows a time-lapse video of a night of observing at the Sloan Foundation telescope, including the busy observers changing cartridges full of fibers and switching from observations of distant galaxies to observations of Milky Way stars when the Moon rises and makes the sky bright with moonlight. Yale University scientists are involved in all of the major aspects of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, an initiative that spans four continents and includes 200 astronomers at more than 40 institutions.
