Pizza Fest

Sample the fare of pizzerias from all around town. Proceeds from Pizza Fest benefit New Haven’s Connection Fund. New Haven Green. Noon-1:30 p.m.

Harkness Tower

Listen to the first concert in the Summer Carillon Concert Series. Old Campus; High Street, directly across from Harkness Tower, is one of the best listening locations. Free. 7 p.m.

Adele Myers & Dancers

Experience Adele Myers & Dancers’ newest work, Einstein’s Happiest Thought, performed to music by Josh Quillen of the contemporary music ensemble So Percussion. Iseman Theater, 1156 Chapel St., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Events

See a new play about tragedy and obsession by David Greig. The Events deals with issues of community, tolerance, and how to cope in the wake of traumatic events. The production features local choirs and a “soaring musical soundscape.” Yale Repertory Theatre, 1120 Chapel St. Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Get moving to the beat of La Santa Cecilia, 2014 Grammy winner for Best Latin Rock album. This ensemble combines Pan-American rhythms and is known for making “big, passionate music.” Free. New Haven Green. 7 p.m.

Attend NHDocs: The New Haven Documentary Film Festival. See one or all four of the documentaries by local filmmakers — Gorman Bechard, Jacob Bricca, Lisa Molomot, and Charles Musser — and take part in the Q&A’s with the filmmaker after each film. Free.
