Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to come to New Haven’s Broadway district on Friday, April 11, for College Night, an evening of discounted shopping, free food, live music, giveaways, and a raffle with a chance to win a free iPad or gift cards to stores at the shops at Yale.
Over 20 stores and restaurants will participate in College Night, to be held from 5 to 9 p.m. These include, but are not limited to, J Crew, Jack Wills, Urban Outfitters, Alex and Ani, and the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at Yale.
Participating stores will have discounts of up to 20% off, along with special in-store promotions. There will also be free Ashley’s Ice Cream and free pizza at Yorkside Pizza.
As students shop around Broadway, they can enjoy live music by the band Groove Junkies. Other offerings include free henna tattoos, free photo booth, free fortune telling, and more.
Parking is available in the 272 Elm St. surface parking lot, located next to Trailblazer, and in parking lot behind the Payne Whitney Gym. Free shuttle transportation will be provided from Quinnipiac, Southern Connecticut State University, and the University of New Haven.
College Night on Broadway, sponsored by the shops at Yale in downtown New Haven, first began in 2004. Broadway stores are open until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
