Two World Fellow alumni named 2014 Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneurs

Yale World Fellows Chetna Vijay Sinha (2002) and Patrick Struebi (2012) are among 37 people recognized by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.

Chetna Sinha is founder and president of the Mann Deshi Mahila Bank, a micro-enterprise development bank working with low-income women across India. Patrick Struebi founded Fairtrasa, a company that lifts small-scale farmers out of poverty by providing them with technical know-how and linking them to local and international markets. 

The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship “provides unparalleled platforms at the regional and global level to highlight and advance leading models of sustainable social innovation.” This year’s awardees are pioneering solutions for social and environmental challenges including urban revitalization, renewable energy, unemployment, and more.
