Friday
Celebrate the inauguration by taking tea and enjoying music in honor of Yale University’s 23rd president, Peter Salovey. Afternoon Tea will be served in the Entrance Court of the Yale Center for British Art from 3 to 5 p.m., and music will begin at 3:30 p.m. 1080 Chapel St. Free.
Saturday
Listen, see, do, enjoy — from dogs and brains to bells and Bhangra — at the Yale Inaugural Open House. Yale will open the doors for a campus-wide, all-day open house in honor of the inauguration of President Peter Salovey. For the full list of tours and activities, visit the inauguration website. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. on Cross Campus, 120 High St. Free.
Enjoy the 11th annual ¡Fiesta Latina! — a celebration of the people and cultures of Latin America — featuring music, dance, and family activities at the Peabody Museum of Natural History, 170 Whitney Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission all day
Visit the Power of Pictures exhibit at the Beinecke Library and see the “depth and breadth of images in Beinecke’s collections, from woodcuts to photographs, diagrams to cartoons.” Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, 121 Wall St. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Free.
Sunday
Listen to a performance of Bach cantatas by Yale Schola Cantorum and members of Yale Baroque Ensemble. Masaaki Suzuki will be the principal guest conductor at St. Mary’s Church, 5 Hillhouse Ave. 7:30 p.m. Free.
