Community members are invited to take part in two campus events on Wednesday, Sept. 11 marking the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

The Yale Student Veterans Council, in conjunction with Yale ROTC, will pay tribute to those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001 — a number that includes at least nine Yale alumni — with a ceremony at 8:35 a.m. on Beinecke Plaza. The event will include participation in the national moment of silence, as directed by the president of the United States, and the raising of the flag to half-mast.

The Chaplain’s Office will also commemorate the day with open meditation in Battell Chapel, corner of College and Elm streets. There will be a labyrinth set out for people to walk and mediate at their own pace. Battell will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
