Listen to a Yale undergraduate guide lead a discussion on Stories in American Art during an “Angles on Art” gallery tour. Free. Yale University Art Gallery, 1111 Chapel St. 3 p.m.

Take a docent-led Introductory Tour of the permanent collection of the Yale Center for British Art. Free. 1080 Chapel St. 1-2 p.m.

 




All Weekend

Tour Celebrating Yale History in Manuscripts and Archives, an exhibit showcasing documents from over 300 years of Yale history including items from the University archives, Yale publications, and manuscript collections. Memorabilia Rm., Sterling Memorial Library, 128 Wall St. Visit the website for hours.

Discover Echoes of Egypt: Conjuring the Land of the Pharaohs — an exhibition that takes visitors on a journey through 2,000 years of Egyptian history — and see how an ancient culture impacts today’s world. Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, 170 Whitney Ave. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, noon-5 p.m.

Hear the nine winners of the inaugural Donald Windham-Sandy M. Campbell Literature Prizes James Salter, Jeremy Scahill, Naomi Wallace, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Zoë Wicomb, Jonny Steinberg, Adina Hoffman, Tom McCarthy, and Tarell Alvin McCraney — read from their work. The reading is part of the inaugural Windham-Campbell Festival, to be held Sept. 10-13. Free. Yale University Art Gallery, 1111 Chapel St. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m.
