The final weekend at Arts & Ideas

Here is a look at what is happening during the final two days of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, Friday & Saturday, June 28 & 29. For more information, visit the festival’s website.

SPECIAL EVENT

Pizza Fest on the Green, featuring pies from pizzerias all around town; proceeds benefit New Haven’s Connection Fund. Friday, noon-2 p.m. Info.

PERFORMANCES
The Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main will present “Sequence 8,” an acrobatic and theater piece, on Friday at 8 p.m.

Moto on the Green, a performance by the reggae-socca-party band. Friday, 6 p.m. Free. Info.

Debo Band & Fendika on the Green, featuring a band that has won acclaim for its groundbreaking take on Ethiopian pop music, and a troupe of traditional musicians and dancers from that nation. Saturday, 7 p.m. Free. Info.

Echo Uganda on the Green, a performance of traditional East African folk songs, performed using authentic instrumentation. Friday, noon. Free. Info.

Weekend Showcase on the Green, performances by local artists thoughout the afternoon. Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. Free. Info.

“The Quiet Volume,” an intimate theatrical experience about books, reading, and the communal experience of the library. Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with new shows beginning each half hour. Info.

“L’homme Cirque,” a one-man circus featuring everything from a human cannon ball to a climactic high-wire act. Friday, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m. & 5 p.m.) Info.

“Sequence 8,” an acrobatic dance and theater piece by the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (7 Fingers). Friday, 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m. Info.

 “Stuck Elevator,” a comic-rap-scrap metal musical prompted by the real life experience of a Chinese restaurant delivery man trapped in a Bronx elevator for 81 hours. Friday, 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. Info.

Shantala Shivalingappa, a performance by the classical Indian dancer who specializes in the traditional south Indian dace form of Kuchipudi. Friday, 8 p.m. Info.

“Freewheelers,” about the effect of two coinciding events in New Haven: the patenting of the bicycling and the opening of the country’s first corset factory. Saturday, 3 p.m. & 8 p.m. Info.

IDEAS EVENT
Singer-songwriter Roseanne Cash will talk about her work and the legacy of her father, Johnny Cash, on Saturday at 1 p.m.

“Roseanne Cash: Inspiration, Song Sense, and Lineage,” a talk by the singer-songwriter about her own work an the legacy of her father, Johnny Cash. Saturday, 1 p.m. Free. Info.
