Yale faculty, staff, and students will receive an exclusive offer of 25% off of all tickets for all sessions from Sunday-Saturday, Aug. 18–24 (sessions 1-12). The offer is valid online or by phone. In March Kerber and Errani became the first athletes to commit to play the 2013 New Haven Open at Yale. At the time, Anne Worcestr, tournament director, noted, "Announcing two top-10 players six months before the start of the 2013 New Haven Open is a testament to our consistently strong player fields from year to year.”
The news that Kvitova and Bartoli have also signed on, Worcester said, “gives the New Haven Open three of the top eight and four of the top 15 players in the world earlier than ever before. This speaks to the depth and competitiveness of the player field, and, combined with all the fan-friendly enhancements being introduced this year, shows just how focused we are on delivering incredible fan entertainment both on and off the court."
The New Haven Open at Yale presented by First Niagara is a World Tennis Association event that is part of the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series. More than just a competition, notes Worcester, the tournament it is a leading example of leveraging a large-scale international sporting event to generate $26 million in regional economic impact and to build community pride, spirit and engagement, especially among youth.
In addition to daily tickets, the tournament offers fans ticket packages that offer up to a 42% discount. The After Hours package includes a ticket to every night session including the finals on Saturday, Aug. 24. The Pick Four Flex allows fans to choose any four sessions to attend from Sunday-Thursday, Aug. 18–22 (sessions 1-9). The Weekender gives fans access to both semifinals on Friday, Aug. 23 and the Final on Saturday, Aug. 24.
