Creative writing faculty to read from their own works

Three Yale lecturers who teach creative writing and are also authors will share their own literary creations at a reading on Monday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. in Rm. 317 of Linsley-Chittenden Hall, 63 High St.

Titled “A Creative Writing Faculty Reading,” the program is sponsored by Yale’s English Department, and is free and open to the public.

The three featured authors are:

Emily Barton, a novelist whose fiction, criticism, and essays have appeared in numerous publications. In addition to her work at Yale, Barton teaches occasional workshops and seminars in the M.F.A. programs at New York University and Columbia. 


John Crowley, the author of 10 novels and three collections of short fiction. Crowley has also worked in films and television, and written scripts for historical documentaries.

Michael Cunningham, the author of the novels “A Home at the End of the World,” “Flesh and Blood,” “The Hours” (winner of the Pen/Faulkner Award & Pulitzer Prize), “Specimen Days,” and “By Nightfall.”
