Graduate and undergraduate college students from Yale and surrounding schools are invited to come to the Broadway district in New Haven for College Night on Friday, Sept. 14, 5-9 p.m.
College Night will feature discounted shopping and assorted activities, along with free food, live music, giveaways, and a raffle with a chance to win a free iPad or a $250 gift card to Urban Outfitters.
Over 20 stores and restaurants along Broadway will participate in College Night — including, but not limited to, J Crew, Jack Wills, Urban Outfitters, Alex and Ani, and the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at Yale.
Participating stores will have discounts of up to 20% off, along with special in-store promotions, such as a free jewelry giveaway to the first 200 customers at Laila Rowe and free samples of Ashley’s Ice Cream.
As students shop around Broadway, they can enjoy live music featuring the band Kings of Harmony. Other offerings include free henna tattoos, free caricatures, free kettle corn, and the chance to win prizes in small games such as Plinko.
Parking is available at the 272 Elm St. parking lot, located next to Trailblazer, and in the parking lot behind the Payne Whitney Gym, 70 Tower Pkwy. Free shuttle transportation will be provided from Quinnipiac College, Southern Connecticut State University, and the University of New Haven.
College Night on Broadway is sponsored by the shops at Yale in downtown New Haven. Since 2004 thousands of undergraduate and graduate students have come to New Haven for the event.
Broadway stores are open until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
