MEDIA ADVISORY: Beating the “holiday blues”: Yale experts offer ways to stay happy and healthy during the holiday season
Although the holidays are supposed to be a season of peace, love and joy, many people just can’t seem to get into the spirit of merriment. They suffer through what are known as the “holiday blues.” In extreme though rare cases, the blues can tip over into true clinical depression.
Yale University has experts on this subject who are available to discuss ways to avoid the blues, and what to do if you or a loved one is suffering from something more serious:
- Jan Holton, assistant professor, pastoral care and counseling, Yale Divinity School
- Dr. Gerard Sanacora, director, Yale Depression Research Program, Yale School of Medicine
- Donna Fasula, Yale Depression Research Program, Yale School of Nursing
