Tennis star Venus Williams revealed that she is pulling out of the U.S. Open because she has been diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome, a disorder of the immune system.

A great deal of research is underway at Yale School of Medicine into Sjogren’s and other autoimmune diseases. In fact, Yale has been designated as an Autoimmune Center of Excellence by the National Institutes of Health.
